Purpose: To perform the pupil perimetry in patients with poor subjective responses.
Subjects and methods: We recorded the pupil fields in 62 eyes of 41 patients (mean age, 74.8 years) using the head-mounted perimeter "imo."
Results: Pupil fields were obtained in 57 eyes; the results in 42 of these eyes were compared with those of optical coherence tomography and fundus photography, and these corresponded well in 31 eyes. However, patients aged 75 years or older tended to have unstable pupil fields. We were unable to detect the pupils in patients with dementia along with sleep impairment or parkinsonism.
Conclusion: Future measures based on these results will contribute to the objective visual field assessment for future clinical applications.
